How about something just a shade darker than the sashing - perhaps one of your florals? This would put the emphasis back on the fabrics in your blocks. Lovely quilt. This quilt has more variety of color and a stripe would compete with that ... the beige calms it down so you can appreciate the different colors and patterns in your block. Setting "on point" as Bees Knees Granny suggested is a good idea ... love "on point" quilts. LOVE Max's "puppy cut" for the summer, too ... Goldens are so adorable when they get ready for the good weather. BTW ... the 1260 is "smoking" and I love, love, love it! To make this one more feminine, you might consider a narrow lengthwise stripe with some curves in the design, from flowers, vines, scallops etc. Setting it on point would also make it a little less solid, more feminine. If you set it on point, you might consider using the same fabric in both the sashing cornerstones, and the setting triangles bordering the quilt. Your blocks seem cooler than those in your last quilt. Perhaps a gray or medium blue sashing would enhance these blocks. So many decisions! Keep on quiltin'. Could you find a stripe in a soft blue or lavender? Something a little more feminine in color, but with the visual interest of the stripe? Just wondering what that would do for it. I think first I would play with color and find one I like and then see if I could find that color with the stripe.Janet O.https://www.blogger.com/profile/05083607398709252597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4655771233639274287.post-74455964981808330002015-04-23T13:28:05.863-07:002015-04-23T13:28:05.863-07:00Maybe just perk up your cornerstones to one of the...Maybe just perk up your cornerstones to one of the pink-red fabrics instead of the quieter darker blue? I think it's just too beige and too plain? Your sashing is a medium color compared to the block fabrics but in the finished one, the sashing has a lot of contrast, it's a dark in that piece. Try a dark and a light and see where that takes you. Sharonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12037415376456508137noreply@blogger.com
