Back to reality

I hated putting Bonnie on a plane yesterday but life goes on and our little annual retreat has come to an end.  We had a wonderful week and got so much done. This was our work area, the dining table! Eating? We don't starve, I'll tell ya! We take turns fixing meals and enjoyed eating on the back patio each evening.  Lori and Bonnie are great friends and we always have such a great time.
After giving the ocean waves a rest, I turned to left-over hsts made from a black/30s top I did finally finish, from a pattern called Licorice Allsorts. I was using STRINGS, another Bonnie Hunter creation.  It is very forgiving and, after making a zillion hsts (I even had a dream about them last night) I was ready for some brainless quick sewing.  So this is my latest project. What do you think? Oh, and my sewing room is a DISASTER. Can anyone relate?? vbg

I also did get to see the Darling Grandbaby Ryan, having stopped at my daughter's on the way back home last night. In just 2 weeks, he'd already changed so much. I'll post another picture tomorrow!

    I enjoyed reading about your time spent with Bonnie and at Sisters. I am living vicariously through other quilters that I read about on-line!

    What fun to start reading a blog from the very beginning of it's creation. I finally figured out how to leave comments. Starting a blog would probably throw me in another dimension!! Your grandson looks adorable--such a fun age. Judy

    Sewing with friends is the most fun! Fun and productive and silly and serious all at the same time. I love the Licorice Allsorts pattern (I'm wondering about the history of the name, it has me puzzled). I'd love to win that pattern - thank you for the chance!

    another great quilt in the making, love the strings made into stars!!!!
    and the setting is perfect, keep going! yes when I make hst I can only do it for so long then need a break. I bet you need a weeks vacation just to recover from the sewing marathons!

    I just love your Ocean Waves Quilt! I want to make one myself, but I'm still building up the courage to make so many HST's.
    I would love to win the Licorice Allsorts pattern, I have a lot of black fabric laying around, so I could finally use that.

    I think your Licorice Allsorts quilt is just amazing. Love the strings and the black fabric.

    I'm not really interested in the Licorice Allsorts, but am wondering what the chances are of you sharing the String Star quilt pattern/tutorial? I have oodles of strings to use up & love that look!

    Licorice Allsorts is a wonderful pattern. I think I need to make that for my DH since he can't eat licorice anymore. He can sleep under it instead! LOL
