I've been quiet lately, mostly because of taking care of the darlings! I have done some sewing and I wanted to show you what I've been doing. This is a pattern called "bullseye". I loved a quilt that Lori brought to Sunriver and apparently my friends Pat Riley and Debbie Dodge have been making this pattern for years! Who knew!!???
It's really pretty simple! I start with a 9" background. Onto that I sew 7", 5-1/2" and 3-1/2" circles. I cut out the excess fabric from the back between each new circle.
Then I cut them into quarters and mix them up and resew them. After washing, they will have a tattered look! Great way to use up scraps or fabric you don't love anymore!!
I need to make a bullseye quilt. I have admired them for several years! I love Lori's!
ReplyDeleteNice pattern! Yours is really pretty!! hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to know you are still here! : )
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a fun quilt. Nice way to use up some serious scraps!
I started one and then didn't like some of my fabrics, so it got put away. I will get back to it cause I do love them.Yours is looking great!
ReplyDeleteare you hand sewing those circles down?
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, I made one of those a bazillion years ago (probably when it first came out) and still love it. Funny thing, our church group started making them a few months ago. GREAT for using up all kinds of uglies and who wouldn't love one to keep them warm?!

ReplyDeleteWell, I'll be! You are coming right along! I know how it is when you're watching your little darlings! It's hard to get anything done while being a grandma. Keep up the good work and see you next month!
ReplyDeleteFun fabrics and love the pattern!!

I love it Randy. This quilt is my family's "go to" quilt in my living room. Everybody loves it.
ReplyDeleteI too may have to make another one.
I'm sure I've seen this pattern somewhere before, but it always looks fresh and fun when it shows up on a recent post. Fascinating how the uglies end up looking OK, once they're cut small enough and blended in with others.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a great quilt, Randy!
You are making great progress!! I love it!
ReplyDeleteI made this quilt with a group and we all exchanged quarter circles......fun!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you are making good progress!
Happy Sewing
Great job. I also made this quilt. It's a great way to use up fabric, in particular the "uglies".
