Uh oh

Not quilt related.
A vase of flowers tipped over (wind gust) right next to where my laptop was plugged in getting charged. It shut down and hasn't been heard from since!
I left it in the refrigerator last night and when I went to start it up again, there was a huge "?" floating on the screen. Then it turned off.

Any ideas??? 😝😝😝😝😝

  1. Sorry to hear your story, Randy and I don't know what it means, but if I were you I would Google search it. I would start with the name/make of the device and, in your case, type "showing ?" and see where this leads you. Good luck. ;^)

  2. I didn't even know to put it in the fridge. I've heard of putting doused cell phones into containers of rice, but I don't know if that applies to laptops.
Seriously, is your fridge that clean (and empty)? : )

  4. It might possibly be saved. I think it depends on how "wet" it got. If you have a Geek Squad at your local Best Buy they might be able to help. I've heard all the stories about putting in rice, etc. to dry it out but never heard back if they were successful. Good luck and keep us posted. Linda

  6. Sad to say I don't think it's salvageable. I lost an Ipod when wet, because I dared try to turn it on before it was dry. If there is any hope you are to leave it to dry right off before trying to turn it back on. Never heard of the fridge thing - I can't see how that would help? But then I'm useless at computer stuff.
