Pin cushions galore and a little advice!

Are you sewing your pin cushions?? Or have you done that already? Started getting yours?

I went a little crazy and made several more using the rest of the Temecula Quilt kit:

Note my imperfect corner, of course!

I want to show you my new clock:
They are made locally and I am happy to tolerate a crack/flaw for a fraction of the usual selling price. Isn't it fun??

I'm not usually a quote of the day kind of girl but I want to share something I read last night. This was from an excerpt of a book coming out by Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a very wise and brilliant woman on the US Supreme Court. It is about her life and she offers advice on life and love. She said that, "it helps sometimes to be a little deaf."  It was advice from her mother in law back in 1955. That advice has served her well in her 56 yrs of marriage and in every workplace.

She says that if a thoughtless or unkind word is spoken, best to tune out.

Personally, I wish everyone followed that sage advice. Coming from someone who regularly says what she thinks, I'd probably have had a lot fewer troubles if others did that!!

Her new book is called "My Own Words" and I will look forward to its publication. Interesting advice, don't you think?

  3. Love your pincushions! How big are these, 3 inches? You did an excellent job. Love, love, love the clock. If that crack is bothering you some, take a silver colour Sharpie and add some more lines. It will look like it was the intended design and only you will know it is cracked. (Try it on the back of the clock first, just to be safe.) Great piece of advice. So wise. I would like people to be deaf sometimes as I too speak whatever I think, sometimes without thinking what I am saying, lol.

  4. It's a perfect clock for someone who is as busy as a bee! The advice is very good as everyone says the wrong thing from time to time.
