GIVEAWAY time

I think it's time for a GIVEAWAY!!

I'm in a good mood this week (actually I am almost always in a good mood!) but particularly good this week!  Why?

1--had the 3 grandkids this weekend
2--had the littlest #4 grandson on Monday
3--had the littlest #4 grandson again this morning
(note I am not a very good sharer of grandchildren--my daughter in law is from Germany and her parents come frequently-- they are coming on Friday for about a week and when they're in town... I'm persona non-grata!!)
4--I sold my mom's car this week (the last piece of deconstructing her California life is now complete)
5--Claire came over to sew with me and I am closer to getting my triangle gatherings all done
6--made a Hawaiian bag for an auction
7--my youngest son is going to be 30 (how did that happen) on Saturday

8-- most importantly:  LIFE IS GOOD!!!

So, in honor of life being so great, I'm giving away a book I just realized I have two copies of:

Classic & Heirloom Quilts, by Betsy Chutchian
Eight 1800s inspired quilts in three sizes.

How to win?
Please leave me a comment detailing one great thing about your week...
please be sure to include your email address
I'll draw a winner on FRIDAY!!!

xxxxs,
Randy

  1. The best thing that happened in my world is my sister was accepted by the Mayo Clinic for a stem cell transplant. She travelled (from here in Indiana) to AZ to see special doctors. The down side is I really miss her and she will have to stay for a year plus afterward. I never comment on blogs much, but I had to answer you. I've been putting applique together for her to do for the month in isolation. Oh, and we are expecting a grandbaby any moment too. Life is very good.

  2. One great thing about my week is that I got up and out of bed. It might sound funny for most people but don't take it for granted. When my joints aren't aching and I can get out of bed in three or less minutes, I am grateful. So many people can't and so many more never will as they sleep the last sleep. Therefore, I am grateful every morning. The rest of the day is just so much more beautiful when the first thing your feet touch in the morning is gratitude. I'll pass on the book, Randy. I already have so many. It is a very generous giveaway. Bless your generous heart. ;^)

  6. The best thing about this week so far is I think the chiropractor has finally put my back together again, the pain is significantly less after today's visit - hurray! That, plus being able to join my quilting friends for our ministry group meeting yesterday, that fellowship is so important. Life is good!

  7. The best thing about my week was that my son-in-law had a pacemaker placed as a first step in correcting his complicated heart condition. So glad this first step got done. Also making progress on my oldest granddaughter’s graduation quilt

  8. The best thing about my week was watching my daughter get baptized on Parris Island, South Carolina, as a new Marine and then watching her graduate with the rest of the Plaoons the next day. We got to bring her home with us for a few short days and then she will go on down to San Diego for more training. Very proud of her! It sounds like you had an awesome week yourself! Thanks for sharing- K- lkw2x6-apq@yahoo.com

  12. I’m making good progress on hand quilting a quilt, almost to the borders. It’s for a good friend who is coming to visit in a few weeks, so I have a deadline! And it was nice and mild yesterday, my son and I were able to get outside and get a little spring garden cleanup chores started. And the sweetest moment was watching a flock of cedar waxwings at my bird bath. They are such exquisite birds!

  13. What a fun idea for a giveaway. Sounds like A+ week for sure! I hope to be blessed with Grandchildren one day.
My son got a high grade on an Anatomy Test at college this week that was really tough.
I'd love Betsy's book, sound like my thing!

  14. What a fun idea for a giveaway! Life is good here in Indianapolis! We are finally seeing some real signs of spring in spite of recurring snow. Wild flowers and daffodils are blooming! Today is one of my favorite days each month as about twenty ladies gather to work on charity quilts. It's like a mini retreat!

  15. My yard is glorious right now. Every time I go outside there is a riot of color - daffodils, tulips (orange, red, yellow), grape hyacinth, lungwort, Virginia bluebells, brunnia, hellabore and pansies! Thanks for the happy thoughts to read, and for a chance at the book.

  16. What a fun thing to think about! The best thing about this week is that, in northern Idaho, we have some sunshine, and some signs of spring -- buds, birds, and again some blue skies!! How fun for so much grandkids time!

  17. Wow--you have had a busy week! The best thing for me this week is packing up for quilt camp. I leave on Saturday and can't wait to sew with my friends! Another good thing was getting the binding finished on my Foothills quilt so I can take it to camp for Show and Tell. If we don't have any Show and Tell to share, we have to do the Hokey Pokey--yikes! It's a good incentive to finish stuff up--lol!

  18. My week has been busy. I finished piecing the quilt top, king size, for my daughter. Yesterday I spent working in the garden happily planting cool weather veggie plants. I live in southeast PA where spring is slow to arrive. Daffodils are abloom all over the property as well as hellebores and lungwort .

  20. You have had a very full week!
My best thing this week was seeing that Sasquatch arrived at his new home, and my daughter sent photos of our granddaughter lying on the quilt to give Sasquatch a "love".

  23. I had a shopping date and lunch with a quilting friend yesterday~ we had a blast. Then, with the sun out, I decided to surprise hubby and get a start on mowing the lawn~ and I did surprise him! A happy surprise. LOL Thanks for the fun!

  24. I finished a baby quilt and blocks 5 and 6 of an applique project, but best of all was reading the fine things everyone else has done.

  25. This has been a great day. I was able to watch my oldest grandson participate in Mock Trial. If my husband hadn't recently retired, I would not have been able to attend the "trial" because the drive is too long for me to do by myself. It was great fun to attend such a special event.

  26. I had a great day sewing with friends. The whole week has been productive and I had lots to share. I also got the legs put on at least six chickens for my applique quilt - a statement only another quilter would understand.

  28. Great fun reading the comments to your post! We all have a lot of great things happening. One that stands out for me this week was completing an 8 mile hike with a friend and our dogs -- they were working towards a Working Pack Dog title, we were simply working.... Thanks for helping us all look at the good things in life!

  29. Best part of my week... it's over! Way too many meetings! I made Triffle, a recipe from a long lost friend. It gave me warm thoughts of our time together so long ago. Grandchildren make life so much better!!

  30. I like the hourglass blocks, too, but maybe choose just one color for all of them for a unifying effect.
