I'm thinking a border would be good but I don't have the right fabric. Do you think I need a border??
If anyone thinks they'd like to make this, I'm happy to send you the pattern. It's by Bird Brain and is called "Snowmen and Reindeer Bluework Quilt".
I've also been cleaning my sewing room. I don't seem to be very productive when I've got clutter. Know what I mean??
Now for a giveaway as part of my cleaning up:
I have three Marti Michell sets of templates I've never used.
Set A: 7 pieces 3" square basic set
Set B: 7 pieces 4" square basic set
Set P: 5 pieces 27-5/8" feathered star set
If you are interested in any of these, please send me a comment with your email address!!
I am interested in set P. Thanks

I vote for a border. Any combo of blue, white, and/or tan, which will give your snowmen a lovely frame. With all the work you put into them, you want this darling quilt to be the best that it can be, and the right border will make it sing!
ReplyDeleteThe template sets look interesting. A or B might be within my skill level - lol!
I also vote for a border. Maybe you can find a snowflake print? I already have all the templates I need, but thanks for the offer!

I am taking a block of the month class that uses Marti Michell templates. Since I don't have the templates, I have been tracing them onto the fabric using my light box! I'd probably put a small border so that I wouldn't lose my cornerstones... Joann
ReplyDeleteOoh, i love that "Birdbrain" pattern! I would love to make it...thanks for the chance to win....(thomjulie@yahoo.com) what a lovely finish--I especially like the gold cornerstones...hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteI've had my eye on that darling snowman pattern for a number of years. Would love the chance to win it! Thanks for the generous giveaways. I think a pieced border with fun "chilly" fabrics. Sandra
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking a blue and white snowflake border would be a fun addition. And I'm always up for a giveaway - you could throw me anything and I'd leap for joy!
ReplyDeleteI'd vote for a border, too. Thanks for the opportunity!
ReplyDeleteI think I would just bind it with the sashing fabric with no border. I would love to win the embroidery patterns. vlhill3459(at)sbcglobal(dot)net
ReplyDeleteAh, your snowman quilt is so cute! Way to go! I vote border.
ReplyDeleteI love my Marti Mitchell templates- I have one set and it isn't one you show. I'd love to win them. :)
Your Snowman are wonderful. I need P for a pattern I have yet to make. Yes I would put a border. If you had the energy you could embroider white/blue snowflakes on black.
ReplyDeleteBorder for sure. I may even be able to help you with thst, but it will have to wait till I get back home. I will let you know.
ReplyDeleteYours truly! PJ Riley
I like it as it is with just binding. I would love to try out set P x

Thank you for a chance to win one of them !
I agree that your adorable snowmen need a border--such a cute quilt! I would go for set a or b--maybe the templates would help with my Square in a Square phobia--lol!
ReplyDeleteI would love a chance at the Bird Brain Pattern!
ReplyDeleteYou know for a couple of years now I have seen lovely Blue, Black and gold Christmas fabric... unless I saw them a decade ago. lol
I think your quilt would look good with a dark border, then more yellow / gold for the binding. I'd love to have the pattern.

ReplyDeleteYes, I think border... something light to offset your dark sashing. This looks really nice! I'd love a copy of the pattern. I love Marti's templates, I have quite a few so don't enter me into that unless it's for set P which I don't have. Thanks! aslottke at sbcglobal dot net.
ReplyDeletewould love to win , really like her rulers
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is delightful! I would add a wintery blue print as a border. How generous of you to be giving away your Marti Mitchell templates! I would love A or B.
