Some friends asked me to join them at a "Sip & Paint" event at a local art gallery in Sunriver on Thursday evening. We were to be painting a boat on water. It was a lovely evening and we did have fun. Here is the artist herself demonstrating the project:
You can see what we were supposed to be painting on the right side. Here is my so-called finished project! VBG. I've done these projects before and I relegate them to the garage! Perfect place for them.
I walked around the gallery a little and found they were selling some interesting quilts. One woman bought this one while I was there. She lives in Sedona (Arizona) so it's a wonderful memory of her vacation here.
It's a great pictorial of some of the wonderful outdoor activities in this part of Oregon. I also really liked this other one:
I don't love the colors but I love the pattern. Curved piecing is one skill I have not mastered. Some day!
Awesome painting, Rhandy. I haven't painted in such a long time, wonder if I still could. The last quilt is gorgeous. I haven't mastered the curved piecing either. I am pretty much a straight girl, hahaha! ;^)ReplyDelete
It's almost paint by number, really!Delete
they make is so easy...
I wouldn't know where to begin on doing some kind of painting. I so wish I were artistic in that way.ReplyDelete
I am totally incompetent as a painter but they make it almost like paint by numbers so it's not that hard... plus they come along and help you out!!Delete
That looks great Randy! Really, considering you have little experience in painting I think that's really good for a first effort!ReplyDelete
HA!! You're very sweet, Claire...Delete
Up close, it's pretty sad but it'll look great in the garage! VBG
Hope you're having a blast! And Jimmy is still alive.... ;-)
Cute quilts! Interesting painting.... But social fun anyway!ReplyDelete
The painting looks like so much fun and yours looks great--more than just garage worthy--lol! I've been working on a paint by number and find it very relaxing, but filling in so many tiny areas can get a bit tedious.ReplyDelete
