Not MY garden

I once tried to grow dahlias but failed miserably. We found the most beautiful dahlia garden in Golden Gate Park in SF this week while walking baby Emma in my snuggli (do you remember those?). It made me even more sure I was never going to try to grow them again! Isn't this gorgeous??

  1. Gorgeous dahlias -- I'm going to try growing them next year in my new garden. I just love the shapes and the colors. Thanks for sharing!

  5. We saw that garden, too when we were in SF about 2 falls ago. The colors are amazing because its usually so foggy there. I just went and looked at the pictures I took. We were there to see the "new" de Young. I love San Francisco.

  6. Dahlia's have endless colors, sizes and shapes.....they grow well here in the Northeast too, but they are deer candy so I only enjoy them where I volunteer garden. They grow well in containers too but always seem to need staking.
    Isn't Fall a glorious season?

    Happy Sewing Nana

  7. Isn't that the most beautiful garden you've ever seen? When we were there about this time 2 years ago, we were blown away by the beauty of the dahlia garden.

  9. I tried growing dahlias for the first time this year. The plants grew and grew and became huge but it took forever for them to develop buds. It was worth the wait--they were spectacular! I will be adding them to my garden again next year for sure.
