I also bought one fq (what restraint!) of something totally different from what I usually am attracted to:
Well I had to play with this new fabric right away and used it in a block that I've been wanting to make. I think it's perfect and now I want to make more of these blocks using large scale prints.
Do you see the rabbits and birds?? I am tempted to stop off at the store on the way to the airport (to reluctantly drop off Bonnie for her flight to Portland) and buy more of this really unusual fabric. We were trying to figure if it's a Kaffe Fasset fabric...
I am heading home tomorrow... Probably won't be sewing for a few days. We've had a most amazing week together here in beautiful (now smoky) Central Oregon.
It has been really special!! I'm so lucky!! Life is good!
I am pretty sure this is Tula Pink fabric. Maybe Fox Field or something close to that? I saw some at a shop in Georgia last week, and it was lovely.
ReplyDeleteTula Pink was my guess too. She puts animals in her fabric designs.
DeleteYou are correct! We stopped at the shop and saw the bolt. Great fabrics!! I had no idea!!
DeleteA wonderful door prize!! I don't usually use large scale fabrics in my quilts, but I really love how your block turned out. I hope you and Bonnie can get together again soon.
ReplyDeleteLove that print, too! And the block you used it in...really neat!! Have a safe trip..hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteYEP, that's TULA PINK! I love fussy cutting her animals out and hiding them in my blocks. Travel safe!
ReplyDeleteI love the rabbits and birds in that fabric! I'm glad you had so much fun with Bonnie!
ReplyDeleteI have to ask what your measurements would be on that Tula Pink block...I just love it...thanks, Julierose
ReplyDeleteI've seen other answers.
