There was also a collection of quilts from the Chicago School of Fusion! Never heard of it but some of the quilts were amazing! I love the colors!
Then there were quilts I just loved:
Here is a close up of a feathered star within the feathered star!!
Of course I had to take a picture of this quilt, using Bonnie Hunter's pattern:
I've wanted to make this for years! The pieces are pretty small! I think it's called, "Oh My Gosh!"
Close up:
Speaking of small pieces, this log cabin has even smaller pieces!!
I love baskets:
I'm not a big fan of pictorial quilts but these were phenomenal!
That's it for my pictures. It was a great show and I had a fabulous time visiting my Wisconsin sisters! I got a lot of sewing done and had lots of love and laughter!
Ooooh! it's over! So grateful you shared these pictures of amazing quilts. I thought the first quilt was completely awesome and so is the one with flowers in vases (right before the Oh My Gosh quilt). Amazing. Thank you Randy
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the show. Those are lovely!
ReplyDeleteLOVED those "fusion" quilts ... such detail! Originally from Chicago ... wish I'd been quilting back then and attended those shows ;-) Thank you for sharing your treasures with us! Linda
ReplyDeleteAmazing quilts!!! Thanks for sharing. The Chicago school of fusion was started by Laura Wasilowski, and several other designers who do fusible applique. Youy canusually spot their quilts by the colors. Laura dyes fabrics andd threads and designs and writes books. I knowher the best because she has come to the guild I belong to a couple of times. The most recent time I was able to take a class from her. She is the funniest speaker, you leave her with aching sides from laughing.
ReplyDeleteWow! Wow! And Wow again is all I can say about the first quilt!! It is just stunning! All of the quilts you have shown us are just wonderful!! Thank you so much for sharing the quilt show!

ReplyDeleteMore heart-fluttering lovely inspiration in all these photos, Randy. That first Japanese quilt looks like a masterpiece with its exquisite applique and quilting. How special to see it in person.
