Giveaway!!

I haven't been able to get a whole lot of sewing done recently , which is very sad!  However, I'm gearing up!

Part of my plan for 2016 is to unclutter my life's possessions!  Have you heard about that book telling you how to get rid of stuff?  This author's "test" is whether the item gives you joy or not.  If not, get rid of it.  I can say that it helped me fill two Goodwill bags... I have a long way to go.

In keeping with that approach, there are several books I haven't looked at in years and I'd like to give them away.

"Showstopping Quilts to Foundation Piece"

"Clever Quarters, too"

"Quilt in a Day, Log Cabin Pattern"

All you need to do is tell me what you hope to do differently this coming year.  I am looking for inspiration!!

I'll draw 3 winners on Monday!!

  2. I'm hoping to keep up with all the quilt alongs I've signed up for, while finishing UFOs, and thinning down the clutter in my house. Sounds monumental to me -- lol.

  4. I actually called a home inspector to tell me what is wrong in my home before things start breaking down and cost me mega dollars to repair. This was the best $300 I ever spent . Looks like my roof should last another 15 years giving me time to save but my heater will need to be replaced much earlier. So besides a massive purging already accomplished, now we can tackle the inspectors list and save on costly repairs later on

  5. I am trying to be better about putting things away after I use them, rather than just randomly laying things down...preventing the chaos! Especially in the sewing room!

  7. Yes, I know about this book and I find I ask myself have I used that in the last year. If not it goes in the sack to giveaway. My sister does the same thing and I end up getting her stuff, heehee. This year I'm trying to use a lot of my fabrics that have been sitting on the shelf for years! Some I hate to cut into, gees I thought that's what I bought it for. So cutting into them this new year. sewfabrics@outlook.com

  8. I am going to attempt to sew more fabric than to buy more fabric. I think its an addiction.

  9. I plan on learning to properly use the quilting tools I already own. I also want to slow down and enjoy the process while using up small scraps given to me by quilting friends.

  10. Finishing what I start would be a #1 change. Culling out my own stash of fabric and books (either donating or selling on eBay) and finally, and most importantly, carving out TIME for myself and using that time to quilt. Even though retired I focus on other people's needs and wants before my own and find I have little time and/or energy when it comes time to me. I need to take care of ME better if I want to continue to take care of others. It's not selfish; it's realistic. Linda

  11. I am in my mood to cut down too and to reduce the stash. So my goals are to use up the older fabric in any way; quilts, totes, even rug making, (want to learn how-to this year). Totes and bags are easy way to get rid of fabrics as there's always someone in my entourage who falls it love with the bag and I have to make myself another one lol. When I shop, I ask myself - where will I store it and do I really need it? Then I ask - dollars in my pocket or more stuff in the house? I don't regret any of the non-purchases I have made so far. I'm thinking if I don't bring it home, I won't have to declutter later. Works for me, hope it helps you too. ;^)

  12. While I have gotten much better about finishing what I start on each project...I still have a stack of UFO's from other years.... I hope to knock down the pile more this year.

  13. Trying to eat differently, not use the d word but be more thoughtful....

  14. Oh this is such a loaded question because there are so many things I need to do differently: going to make an honest attempt at reducing my fabric collection(stash) and take more road trips

  15. It would be really different to get one project all completed before starting another. I want to also do 3+ charity quilts, they will just be small baby quilts. Thanks for chance to be lucky winner.

  16. I'm sure I'm going to end up with more UFOs this year but I'd really like to finish some of the oldest ones! Oh, and get more exercise too so I can live long enough to finish at least more than half of them...
