Haircut or scalping?

Have you ever gone in for a trim and wound up with a haircut you hated??
Well, I'm very sad to say it happened to me yesterday!

I have very curly hair which I've been growing for a while. Yesterday I went in for a trim and my hairdresser (new to me) thought I had too much volume in the back. I thought it was okay to shorten it a bit--- he got carried away and he cut it all off! In the back, so I couldn't see until it was done!!

Ever had an asymmetrical hair style? Well, that's me now! Sides and top are much longer than the back!! Oh abd not only that but one side is longer than the other!!!! What can I do??

I'd love to hear if this has happened to anyone else! It might make me feel better!

Have a great Friday!
Love to you all
Randy

Quilt shopping

When you're with quilters, you always need to go quilt shopping! We took an excursion to a quilt shop in Conyers, Georgia, called Sweet Home Quilt Company. Charming little place in an old house with a swing and rocker on the front porch!

Hello from Georgia with GIVEAWAY

I was lucky enough to have been invited to join my dearest Wisconsin friends outside of Atlanta for a retreat this week. DarLynn used to live here so she knows everyone. Pat, Debbie and I tagged along! How great is that??
My first project was to finish this Lori Smith top which I started in the spring. The center is actually wool appliqué (my first...can ya tell??). Truth be told: I miscut all the outer half square triangles so it doesn't look like the pattern, exactly, but I'm happy with it.
The giveaway:
Who wants this pattern?
Send me your email and I will draw a winner on Thursday!!
Love to y'all (I'm in the South now!!)

Terrorist threat?

I recently participated in a swap with my Wisconsin friends and had enclosed a stamped self- addressed priority mail envelope with the package. My friend Debbie mailed the package back to me in October but it never came!! Imagine how upset we were that my 800 little 4-patches got lost!!!
About 2 months later, just after the holidays, the package showed up!! On the package was a sticker from the USPS telling me that my package was seized and searched because it was a suspected terrorist package! Seriously!! 4-patches!!
This is a new one for me!!

How to start the new year?

I have given up on resolutions. My son called them "goals" which I think is a better term. Less pressure.

So, have you decided on any goals for this coming year? I'd love to hear them. Any subject!

So far, I've been very productive!! I changed 4 dead light bulbs ( you don't want to know how long they've been burned out!!) And, not only that, with the step-ladder already out, I took down the curtains in my bedroom and bathroom and am going to wash them on delicate. They were looking pretty grimy.

I figure I'm now completely ahead of the game!

I may try to tackle my sewing room...

We are going to cook to turkey today, although it's just the 3 of us. It will no doubt taste better than the one we had at Thanksgiving!

Our trip to Sunriver was fabulous.  We had LOTS of snow, as you saw.  We had both Emma and Ryan with us, so that was great. Ryan loved being in the snow for short period. Mark bought him his own snow shovel.  I can't say that he used it much outside. He was shoveling the floor in the hallways, though! That was helpful.

I wish everyone a very healthy, happy, safe and productive 2013!

Love to you all,
Randy
