Sunset in Bend

Sewing time, finally

Our son's girlfriend Julia is from Germany and her family came to California to visit her.  Can't come to California to visit and NOT go up to Sunriver.

So yesterday we drove up and are going to enjoy a wonderful long weekend enjoying the beautiful Central Oregon weather and scenery.

How's that related to quilting??

Well, the VERY good news is that I am finally going to get to spend some time with my dear dear friend Bonnie, who is flying in on Tuesday.  We are going to be at the house in Sunriver BY OURSELVES all week, until she needs to be in Portland on Sunday.  WOOHOO.

We are even going to see Lori on Friday at the First Friday event in downtown Bend.

So, watch for some amazing posts coming up...

Yes, I do remember how to turn on my machine (well, I hope so!).  Recently I went to put on a binding and made a mistake on one of the corners.  UGH...

Quilt patterns everywhere

I've been spending lots of time with the 2 darlings so I've barely sewn let alone been able to write a blog post. Rest assured in still around and am well.
This morning, I was taking the darling Emma for a walk in Santa Cruz along the ocean and happened on a guy doing some kind of sand art!
Oh and this is Miss Emma, anxious to hop back into the pool, shoes and all!
Hope everyone is well and sewing away!!

Fitbit problems

I recently got a fitbit flex to motivate me to walk 10,000 steps a day.  It's been truly a great tool to get me moving, every day.  I'm proud that most days I meet the goal whereas before I wouldn't have bothered.  I've even gotten some friends to move, in the spirit of trying to outdo me! If you don't know about them, you should definitely research them. Check it out here.

Well, imagine my frustration today when my darn thing DIED!!  I thought maybe the battery went dead but it is not charging.... UGH.

Anybody own one of these contraptions and have a similar problem?  I bought it at Target and have every intention of bringing it back as soon as I get back home (dh and I are enjoying a little R&R in Hawaii this week).

On a quilting note, I do hope to be able to run into my favorite quilt store on the island, Kapaia Stitchery in Lihue.  Their Hawaiian fabrics are so tempting!!

Hope everyone had a great week.
Getting ready for Mother's Day??

My little doll quilt

I received the most wonderful doll quilt through Lori's swap. It's absolutely perfect and of course it's blue!! What could ever be wrong with a blue quilt??
Thanks to Carolyn Hosier from Iowa for sending me such a beauty, which is already on my wall!!
Thanks, Lori, for all your hard work!
