Look who came to visit!!!

Debbie from Wisconsin came with her husband to visit for the weekend! Her husband is super handy so he and my dh are busy fixing things while Debbie and I are busy sewing. Claire came over to visit too!!
Notice the wonderful doll quilt in the background!! I got that in Lori's swap from Carolyn Hosier. I'll post a picture of that tomorrow!!

Get your dog washed while your car is getting done?

This is a first! Since it's probably illegal to wash your own car here in California (or soon will be), I took my car for a washing. I saw this contraption on the way to pay!!

Surprise quilt show

My husband and I came up to Sunriver for the week and fell upon a quilt show at the Lodge put on by the local guild, Mtn Meadow quilters! It is in honor of Judy Hopkins. A number of the quilts are hers; some are her patterns; some were finished by her friends using her stash!
What a nice surprise!!

My friend Lori of Humblequilts organized a swap of doll quilts. I am sending mine off today. I enjoy making these small quilts as they get done quickly!!

Amish country

The nearest store to the retreat was a small everything- store, from bulk goods to brooms to diapers. It was an Amish-run store in an Amish area. I loved everything about it!

Coyote Road - a bit weird

We went on a little excursion to a quilt store, Country Sampler in Spring Green, which is a great store in a very charming town. It's a drive through very small country roads. Along the way, we passed by this sight and couldn't resist snapping a picture. We couldn't quite figure out the reason for this-- maybe to warn other coyotes to stay away!! Anybody know??

More eye candy

Here are a few more tops that were completed during our retreat. The last picture of my "divorced" farmer's wife top, which I finally got put together. I'm
Also showing the retreat location, which was wonderful!
