When I went to the local public library (I'm a big supporter of local libraries, as in REAL books!!), I was so pleasantly surprised to see an exhibit of paintings that depicted quilt patterns. I thought you'd enjoy seeing them. They were all for sale, too, but I'm not buying any!
Here is the description of the artist.
Those are great! It would be even better if she was local!
ReplyDeleteI don't think she's from far away, but not Bend, Lori.
DeleteReally neat paintings! I haven't visited the library in a while, time to go again!
ReplyDeleteI love the library; I even get ebooks from the library! Great resource.
DeleteSuch interesting art!
ReplyDeleteI love my"real" books so I'm in the library one week at least! DH on the other hand reads only ebooks! Different strokes!
There's something about holding a real book that just can't be replicated with a Kindle.
DeleteThat is super fun surprise!! I love the library...it is one of the last free things to do, and they have so much!
ReplyDeleteit's amazing that libraries have as many resources as they do!
DeleteVery recently I visited my local library to renew my card and I plan to visit regularly to check out. books. I too love real books. Always have!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful display. A great fusion of tradition with a modern take. Thanks for capturing the info on the artist.
ReplyDeleteRandy, are those at a library in Santa Cruz? I'd love to go givr them a look, if they're local.
ReplyDeleteNo. Those paintings were in a library in Sisters, Oregon, where our cabin in located!
DeleteThey are awesome !! And very inspiring !
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing Randy !
LOVE libraries and REAL books ... like the "feel" of the book's weight and turning the pages. At my library minimum of once a week! We are building a new one in my area ... worked towards the building fund by donating older books and plant sales. LOVED these paintings ... what I found most interesting in her biography is that she doesn't use any tape when creating ... Quite remarkable work and the spectrum of color was beautiful! Thanks for sharing ;-) Linda
ReplyDeletethanks, Linda.
DeleteVery cool! I agree about libraries!!! The first thing I did when we moved here and closed on the house and got my driver's license, was go to the library and get my library card!!
ReplyDeleteOne of the first things I did for my mom was to get her a library card in Bend, as well!
