More French fun

We left Paris yesterday and rented a car to go see the chateaux in the Loire Valley. We have only a short time but we are making the most of it. 

Yesterday we visited the chateau at Chenonceau, which dates back to the 1500s!!  This picture was from my phone, although it looks like a post card!!

The gardens are beautiful and they have two full time people to put fresh floral arrangements in all the rooms. They were amazing!

Then we drove to the place I chose to stay at. OMG were we ever lucky. We are staying in a 15th century manoir! We literally have our own house that is decorated to the nines. 

We ate dinner at a charming place right on the Loire and saw a lovely sunset!

Today we are off to see more sites although we hate even leaving our place on 50 acres in the country!!

Little Paris touches

First person to guess right was Lori, to whom I will personally deliver her prize next month!  My dh and I are going to Nantes. But first we spent a few days in Paris getting over the jet lag!!

We went to the new Louis Vuitton museum  all the way out in the Bois de Bologne, which is the largest park in Paris. 

 

It's only been open about a year and a half and it's very different from the other museums in Paris. It has very modern things, which isn't a surprise if you look at the outside. 

This Buddha was spewing incense!!

But when I was on my way to meet Will, I saw this recycling container near the metro that was obviously full!!

I met Will for lunch (we will meet again in Nantes!!) and she invited  me back to her apartment to see her latest masterpiece!

My dh and I took a walk (what is bad about walking along the Seine, under the Louvre arches??!!) and got a couple of great shots. I never tire of the architecture in Paris!

Then I had to snap this picture of a couple with their dog in a basket!!

Tomorrow we are taking the train out of Paris to see some of the chateaux on our way to Nantes!!

 LeAnn made a cute apron from this pattern. I need to do this!

We are heading out of town for the week so I'll be quiet until next week when I'll be sending you pictures from an exotic quilt show!! Any guesses?? Whoever guesses right wins a prize upon my return!!

Great quilts at retreat

The place we stayed at last weekend near Green Bay had such an amazing collection of quilts, both on the walls and the beds. They were all so inspiring!!

Not sure which is my favorite!! What do you like best??
