A little progress

As I mentioned, I am going to do Cecile and Bea's log cabin quilt along, which isn't very long and won't involve months of work.  My kind of project!

I decided to go mini (thank you, Janet O, for your inspiration!)!  For me, it's more difficult since my piecing is certainly not super accurate.  The strips finish at 1/4", by the way.  The center finishes at 3/4".  The block finishes at 3-3/4"!  I call that small!

I really enjoy fussy cutting!  That's Max in the center (well, not exactly but close enough)

This is a bird.  The other centers are other animals!

I'm using my leftover French General fabrics, which I'm still trying to get rid of!  VBG.  Doing these mini blocks, though, won't use up a whole lot of fabric.  So, if you're at all interested in inheriting some of these fabrics, please leave me a comment and they'll be yours!  I think I'm done with this line for a while!

  3. OMG!! Randy!! What kind of eyes do you have to be working so small! That's even smaller than the 365 Challenge blocks! Ouch! They look wonderful btw. Would love to help you make the General disappear, lol. Thank you. ;^)

  4. I'm interested in the log cabin sew along, as well as those beautiful FG scraps. They would go happily with some I've been saving:)
Would you post a link for the Sew Along? Blessings,

  12. I admire your blocks and can't wait to see what you do this time. I am about to start the second Cabot Cuties, this time with French General fabrics and I didn't collect many of the gray/taupes, so your scraps would be welcomed here.

  14. ANYTIME I'm offered French General fabrics my hand is waving in the air!! Would love to "rehome" some of these!! Your SAL looks interesting but unless there is an English translation I'm unable to participate. Took 2 semesters of French in high school and my French nun was glad to see the backside of me ... LOL Linda

  16. I like the fabrics you are using for the logs. When making small log cabin blocks, I paper piece them. About the only block I like to paper piece.
