A little progress

Iron update:
I have an old Shark gigantic iron that I pulled out of the attic.  Darn thing turns off all the time!   Maybe that's a good thing. ;-)
Bad part:  I had the little portable heater plugged in tonight as well as the heater and **poof** -- the circuit breaker popped and all the power went out in my sewing room.   ;-(

I did do a little sewing the past two days.  I pulled out a UFO after deciding I want to get it finished.  This is a Primitive Gatherings project that's almost completed but still needs more parts finished.  I am working on sewing the half square triangles, which are pretty tiny.

I also did a couple more Temecula Quilts one block quilt!

And I sewed a couple more paper pieced flowers for the Béa et Céçile sew-along.

  1. We don't realize how much energy it takes to operate an iron! Once I set up my iron permanently in my sewing room, the lights on the little Christmas tree I keep in the same room burn out with great regularity. It isn't just one or two bulbs--the whole strand just dies. Before I moved the iron in, those lights had lasted for years.
All of your projects look good, but I especially like the P.G. piece at the top of the post.

  3. I have a heavy duty extension cord running down a hallway to another room to power my iron--otherwise everything in my sewing room blows the breaker. It's surprising how much power those irons can draw! Love the PG block--adorable!!

[O Spring where art thou?] It's still pretty cold here--a bit warmer than yesterday, but not nearly warm enough to walk outside for me...So onto my recumbent bike...hugs, julierose

  6. I'm in love with your flowers. Your mini is really turning out great. I need to send my husband your way to check the wiring at your place. Ouch! That's bad when all the power goes out. Have a wonderful weekend. ;^)

  7. Your flowers are so pretty! What a lovely quilt they will make. Your Temula blocks are really cute! Are you using them for the RSC.? Yellow is the color for February. The UFO is cute!

  8. Iron on fire! Thank heavens you were right there when that happened. That's a scary thought.
