A whole lotta baskets

Anybody love basket blocks?  I mentioned to Janet O (roguequilter) that I had made an entire quilt with different basket blocks, which she promptly wanted to see.

I was lucky enough to have taken a week-long class with Alex Anderson at Asilomar back in 2005 and this was what I made.  None of the baskets are alike and they are all different sizes.  I love it. It hangs in my entryway in Sunriver. In fact, when all the quilters converge, we set up an ironing station right in front of it! vbg

I think I'll be posting more basket blocks for our sow-a-long. Hope that's okay.
Oh and stars, too. I LOVE stars!!

Love to you all,
Randy

  7. The basket quilt is beautiful. I made the original FW basket, sans handle, and I'm making Bonnie Hunter's paper pieced version now. I am inspired to make more. I love stars too! Thanks for posting them.

  16. I love your basket quilt! I have a churn dash with all different sizes, and a sampler. There is just something about putting different size blocks together that appeals to me. This is your quilt along, you don't need anyone's permission to post the blocks you want to post! I take what I get and don't complain because it is a gift! Thank you!

  17. BTW, Just love your basket quilt shown above. Yes, d send more basket patterns.

Randy, I am moving along with your sow-a-long as I have made approx twenty blocks already, all the easy ones.. I find using your directions so good, thank you.

I have made two "sickle" blocks, and having dreadful blocks. I have figured and figured, what am I doing wrong, I ask myself as I begin the third one, then decided to write you. The directions are correct are they not? If so I just have to go on and do a third one and will do it in the am as it could be that I am tired. I wish we had phone #s so I could talk to you.
