One project I really wanted to finish this trip was my 25-patch using a lot of French General fabrics. Remember I asked you about the choice of sashing?? Not many people liked the one I chose but since I'd already sewn so many strips to the blocks (and since I hate unsewing) I kept with my choice. It's subtle but I'm happy with the overall look!
This is what others have done so far:
Peggy is making bridesmaids gifts
Sandy does beautiful beading along with Tamra:
One of my favorite Wisconsin treats is the Spotted Cow beer from New Glarus. Here we were being a little silly!
Another picture of the gorgeous area:
Hopefully I'll still get more done the rest of the time.
I like the sashing you chose, it makes the colors pop. It turned out great!
ReplyDeleteI like the subtle sashing. The cornerstone show up and the 25 patches can shine with it. Good job on the finished top. It is a very pretty view!
ReplyDeleteOOOOoooooo I like your 25 patch! What a pretty area..so glad you are having a wonderful time!!
ReplyDeleteI think 25 patch quilts are great! They have a beautiful visual pattern and look harder to make than they really are. Always a plus in my book. Looks really good, Randy.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you will get more done--if you keep away from the spotted cow. *LOL*
Beautiful fabrics Randy ! And a lovely photo of 4 quilters .... :)
ReplyDeleteLiking that 25 patch Randy! The sashing sets off the blocks nicely.
ReplyDeleteToo bad you haven't seen much sunshine in the wilds of Wisconsin on this trip. Really, we do have sunshine here at times.
Love the photo of the pile of quilters and some spotted cow.
Absolutely LOVE Wisconsin ... it is so beautiful there!! What are you naming that 25 patch quilt? Travel safely home ... glad you had a good time! Linda
ReplyDeleteYour 25 patch turned out great! Love it! It looks like you are staying a beautiful place, hope you get some sunshine.
ReplyDeleteWow! It is so green! Everything is already turning brown here.
ReplyDeleteNice work on your quilt top!!
First of all, you are having way too much fun! I was one of the ones who said you should use a darker sashing, but I love the way this turned out. Very soft and sweet. Keep up the good work! My retreat is this weekend and I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had so much fun! I LOVE the 25 patch quilt! What a great way to use up scraps!
